Villas to rise in Tuburan

A BEACH villa project, combining residential and resort living, is expected to open in Tub-uran, Cebu two to three years from now.

“We wish to target retirees (to live here, because this is) a place to relax (and) to be away from the jungle of the city,” Apalan Beach Villas project architect Tessie P. Javier said during the groundbreaking of the undertaking in Apalan, Tuburan last week.

Javier said even at this stage, Apalan Beach Villas has gathered “very enthusiastic responses from locals and Filipinos living abroad.”

She said the project is a “good place for local and foreign retirees because of its peaceful environment.” The property is adjacent to a white sandy beach that stretches for about two kilometers.

The development is supported by local officials of Tuburan, since it is in “parallel with Cebu Province’s scheme to intensify the country’s tourism,” said Vice Mayor Rose Marie Suezo. “It (Tuburan) is a very remote town, but it will be a
good tourist spot,” she added.

Project proponents described Tuburan as a “strategic place” for the development because it is only about an hour and a half drive from Cebu City through the transcentral highway and only three minutes away from the commercial center of the town, said Javier.

Project proponents are investing about P200 million for the entire development on a 2.7-hectare property.

Apalan Beach Villas will feature 30 villas in pueblo style architecture with an 800-meter “state of the art” swimming pool that will end up at the beach, Javier said.

Preliminary preparations for the project will begin next month. (TEP)
