Wednesday, July 25, 2007 Center to hold reading lecture
WITH the belief that success in school starts with reading, the Applied Psychology Center will hold the “Building Better Readers Workshop” on July 28, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at The Learning Lab (TLL).
TLL is located at the 2/F of Esther’s Pharmacy in Revilles building, Osmeña Blvd., Cebu City.
Professor Anna Kathrina Oaminal, an educator and psychologist, will be the resource speaker.
“When children become good readers in the early grades, they are more likely to become better learners throughout the years and beyond,” the center said in a press release.
Teachers and parents can greatly benefit from the program, it added. Parents could also learn the importance of consistent practice reading at home.
Practice
During the workshop, the participants are expected to learn simple, quick and effective reading activities that set the children up for successful practice reading.
The workshop fee is at P300, inclusive of snacks and a kit.
