Friday, July 27, 2007 King’s Quality Foods now AAA accredited
KING’ Quality Foods (Cebu), Inc. has recently acquired recognition from the National Meat Inspection Service (NMIS) of the Department of Agriculture as an “AAA” accredited plant, less than a year after being declared a GMP/HACCP –certified plant by the same government agency.
The meat processing company, located at S.E. Jayme Street, Paknaan, Mandaue City, Cebu had passed NMIS standards for Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) Program and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) on Aug.19, 2006 before being granted level “AAA” accreditation last June 7, 2007.
The “AAA” accreditation requires HACCP (DA A.O. No. 9 Series 2003), a food safety system developed by the food industry that examines every step in a food operation, identifies specific hazards, and implements effective control measures and monitoring procedures. It is also a management tool used to protect the food supply chain and production process from microbiological, chemical and other physical contamination.
The company’s compliance to all government regulatory requirements to assure food quality and safety in its operations led to its recognition as an “AAA” plant. As such, it is now qualified to market its products in the international market.
Last year, prior its “AAA” accreditation, King’s Quality Foods (Cebu), Inc. has been awarded a Certificate of Recognition as the Regional First Place Winner “AA” Category during the NMIS Search for Best Meat Establishment 2006.
A meat processing plant founded by Juanito I. King, King’s Quality Foods (Cebu), Inc. continues to commit itself in producing quality, good tasting, clean and safe processed meat at a reasonable cost.
