The franchise, which is being handled by the Cebu Volleyball Association, has helped out coaches from Cebu universities pick up talents from the towns.
Not only did it help boost team lineups, but it also gave these players a shot at a better life through volleyball as, when recruited, they are given a chance to study for free.
These players, who were discovered through the Gov Cup, will be flaunted today in the program.
Among these lucky players is Danalie Baquiro of Sta. Fe, who is now the team captain of the Southwestern University team. She will be joined by Luilyn Pacinio and Hanamae Sevilla, who are all from Sta. Fe and Elizabeth Emnace of Barili.
Today’s launching will be participated by town mayors and representatives. They will be briefed about the event and forms will be distributed.
Last year, the tournament attracted 42 cities and municipalities, which sent representatives to the competition. As to how many will take part this year will be known today. (MCB0
