Isle of Man whips Aldritz, 11-7, for 4th win

THERE is no stopping the neophyte team Isle Of Man which continued to display it’s a game following a high scoring 11-7 win over Aldritz Pau de Arco Liniment for its fourth straight win in as many games in the 2007 Cebu Association of Batted Sports (Cabs)-Commissioner Rolly Diorico Softball Cup at the Basak National High School grounds yesterday.

Playing assistant team manager Alintone Adolfo was perfect at bat, scoring three runs with two runs-batted-in (RBIs) as they got the better out of Felix Custodio, who failed to stop the rampaging Isle Of Man.

Aldritz Pau was aggressive early, scoring six runs courtesy of Marlon Cabrera, Rico Ylaya, Felix Custodio, Doppy de la Cerna, Zardo Custodio and Ace Sandal to start the game 6-0 at the top of the first inning.

Isle of Man managed to score two runs behind the efforts of Sandy Ladisla and Carrrywhite de la Cerna to cut down the lead 2-6 at the bottom of the first inning.

Alintone made it closer, scoring a lone run at the bottom of third.

Joel Babatid gave Aldritz Pau its last run at the top of the fourth, but instead of putting pressure, Isle of Man burst with fire when Adolfo scored his second run, while achieving two RBIs when he sent Ladisla and de la Cerna home to put Isle Of Man 6-7 at the bottom of the fourth.

The fifth inning was a nightmare for Aldritz Pau as the error of Ylaya and the homerun of Pilo Sadaya gave Isle of Man four runs.

Wild throw

Ylaya allowed Ladisla to reach third base, while de la Cerna made it to the second after Ylaya made a wild throw after tagging out Kling Klang Deniola.

Adolfo then bunted his way to reach the first base to put runners on all base. Sadaya struck a homer that passed between the left and the center fielders, earning him three RBIs.

With the passion of winning already leaving Aldritz Pau’s side, Louie Ramos scored Isle Of Man’s last run at the bottom of the sixth.

In the other Seniors A Division game, Locan pounded on Carcar Royale harder for their first win and handed the losing squad its third straight loss.

Carcar had a good start scoring two runs courtesy from Jonas Enad and Jodan Campaña. Locan was scoreless for three innings before scoring three in the fourth with Ronnie Tampus, Charlie Ruth and Marvin Rosa giving the Lapu-Lapu City-based squad a 3-2 lead.

The Royales came back hard with three runs at the top of the fifth with Enad, Jeffrey Lañas and Nelson Misa scoring one run each. However, Locan managed to tie the game with a homer from Siomai Paquibot and a run from Dodong Caporas.

Rosal scored the winning run for Locan at the bottom of the sixth to arrest its three- game losing slide.

Meanwhile, Angeric and San Vicente Padres kept their slates clean in the Seniors B division. (RCM)
