Boy of Kalit bolts to finish line

BOY Pagnanawon of Team Kalit overpowered his younger counterparts to take temporary lead in the Tour ni Figer race last Sunday in Danao City.

Pagnanawon topped the Category B of the road race, which covered 70 kilometers from Danao to Lugo and back to Danao for the finish line.

Coming in at second place is Orlan Toring of RUT Machine Shop, while John Mark Pongasi of Gwapings rounded up the top three winners. Rex Gonzales and Geno Basirgo were fourth and fifth placers.

The road race was the second stage of the three-part tour. For winning it, Pagnanawon earned 25 points. Adding to the 20 points he earned after finishing second in the team time trial on Saturday, Pagnanawon is on top in the overall ranking with 45 points. He, however, shares the top spot with Toring. Toring earned the needed points after his team won the TTT.
Meanwhile, racers of Team Doc J pulled off a 1-2-3 finish in Category C.

John Gayatin, Roger Lastimoso and Nacario Bacus checked at finish line one after the other to dominate this division. Team Kalit’s Jemae Estil and Lapu-Lapu’s Hyde Esmalin rounded up the top five finishers.

Doc J, which also won the TTT in this class, is on top of the team standing after stage two with 70 points.

The third and final leg of the race sponsored by Al Figer, will be a 16-kilometer or a 10-miler individual time trial in Catmon this Sunday. (MCB)
