14 sign up for Waterfront tilt
A TOTAL of 14 teams are vying for the championship of the fourth Waterfront Cebu City Hotel Inter-outlet basketball tournament, which kicks off at 1 p.m. today at the Capitol Parish gym in Escario St., Cebu City.
Garry Enriquez, a former varsity player who is the tournament’s facilitator said that a brief opening ceremony , highlighted by the selection of the best muse and the best in uniform, will take place before the competition proper.
The participating squads are divided into two brackets, A and B. Teams will play in a single-round robin format. The Top two teams from each bracket will advance to the cross-over semifinal round.
Those in Bracket A are City Gym, Finance, Banquet, Mizu, Engineering, Uno and Concierge, while composing Bracket B are Pastry, Port Seafood, Tingow Kitche, Fortuna Café, Security, Main Kitchen and new comer Pagcor Boys with team managers Ariel Palcuto ang Alfonso Kaw.
In the opening match, the Pagcor Boys will pit their skills against Fortuna Café while Concierge will play Engineering in the main game. Tournament organizer si Vic Litang while Engr. Vincent Lazaro is the league’s commissioner. (JBM)
