Worker falls from Capitol building

WORK at the Cebu Provincial Capitol was disrupted after a male maintenance worker fell from the window of the Capitol Social Hall where he was cleaning.

Allan Cabigas of Mandaue Integrated Manpower Services (Mims) Inc. broke his leg and needs to be operated on.
Mims is the janitorial services agency contracted by the Provincial Government.

Cabigas was cleaning up the ceiling glass windows of the social hall.

The cleanup was done to prepare for the celebration of the 438th Founding Anniversary of the Province of Cebu.

Cabigas tried to open the window he was cleaning which he successfully did, but this was also the reason why he lost his balance and fell.

Airconditioning

Cabigas landed outside the building.

But before reaching the ground, Cabigas hit the open window on the second floor and the air conditioner casing.

He was brought to the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center (VSMMC) for treatment.

Gerard Acohedo, liaison officer of Mims, promised that the company will shoulder all the hospital expenses of Cabigas.

He also said that Cabigas will continue getting salary even with his confinement.

Lawyer Rory John Sepulveda, Capitol consultant on information, disclosed that the Province will also extend help to Cabigas. (KNT)
