Thursday, August 09, 2007 MS Motosuit holds 9th leg in Asturias
SOME 50 motocross riders will troop to the municipality of Asturias this weekend for the Mayor Allan Adlawan Invitational Motocross competition slated this Sunday.
The race is considered the ninth leg of the yearlong running of the 2007 MS Motosuit Motocross Series. The series targets a total of 12 legs before the year ends.
The race features contests in the expert, intermediate, novice, beginners, executive, mini riders categories. Riders from all over the Visayas and Mindanao are expected to take part in the competition.
The eighth leg was held in Tuburan two months back. Currently leading the premier open/expert division of the series is Jubannie Abellar, who has 208 points.
Abellar only took hold of the top spot, when erstwhile leader Irwin Uypitching, who had 232 points, retired from competitive racing after figuring in an accident.
Meanwhile, 14-year-old stalwart, John Flores, is also expected to put up a good show in this weekend’s race. Flores, who is one of the image models of MS Motosuit, recently bagged the Mini Class title of another race last month in Baclayon, Bohol. (MCB)
