ALL is set for the staging of the 18th edition of the Milo Basketball Efficiency and Scientific Training (Best) basketball tournament, set to unwrap next month at the Sacred Heart School-Jesuits (SHJ-S) gymnasium in Mango Avenue.
Ten teams, University of Southern Philippines Foundation, Colegio Inmaculada Concepcion, University of San Carlos North Campus (USC) A and B, SHS-J, USC South Campus A and B, Don Bosco College, University of Cebu and Cebu Institute of Technology will be battling for the championship of the Paserelle division.
The teams are divided into two brackets with the teams playing in a round robin format.
The Small Basketeers of the Philippines (SBP) division, on the other hand, will only have five teams this year since the schools will only have one team each.
Taking part in the competition are USPF, DBC, SHS-J, USCNC and USCSC.
Represented by their respective coaches, the school representatives drew lots during the organizational meeting last Wednesday.
The opening games will be on Sept. 1 at the SHS-J gym. The school has courts that can accommodate two games simultaneously.
Playing during the opening will be the Paserelle team of SHS-J against USC NC A in court one at 8:30 a.m. and the SBP teams SHS-J and USC NC in court 2.
Playing at court 1 at 10:30 a.m. is UC and USC NC for another Paserelle fight and DBC and USC SC in the other court in another SBP match up.
The champions in the Cebu leg will represent Cebu in the regional finals, on a still to be determined date and venue. (MCB)
