Milo Olympics tells schools to honor deadline

THE organizers of the Milo Little Olympics is calling all schools to catch the deadline of the submission of entries today at the Cebu City Sports Center.

Schools need to submit their requirements, including the official lineup of their athletes, the participants’ biodata and picture galleries.

As of the moment, 50 schools have confirmed their participation in the two-weekend event. Last year, the competitions attracted more than 100 schools.

The opening ceremonies of this year’s edition will start on Sept. 7 at the CCSC, while the games are scheduled to start on the following day. The olympics will continue on Sept. 8 and 9 and wraps up on Sept. 15 and 16.

Tournament managers of the 12 sports featured in the sporting meet will also meet today at the CCSC conference room.

Expected to be at the meeting are Miguela Cuizon for athletics, Dennis Olofernes for badminton, Marvin Ruelan for chess, Danilo Ramos for football, Vivancio Esparaguera for gymnastics, Fritz Tabura for lawn tennis, Roger Abella for scrabble, Nenita Pardenilla for sepak takraw/sipa, Gil Ramas for swimming, Jessica Jawad-Honoridez for table tennis, Rene Brojan for taekwondo and Teresita Ga for volleyball.

Supervising all of the tournament managers is Dr. Danilo Villadolid of the Department of Education. (MCB)
