Just Manny and me

BETTER behave. Freddie Roach is now in-charge.

Roach placed everything in order and stopped just about anyone who tried to enter the RWS International Gym in Punta Princesa, Cebu City

And this will hold true while Philippine boxing icon Manny Pacquiao prepares for his fight at the newly refurbished gym, which is owned by Cebuano ring impresario Rex “Wakee” Salud.

Yesterday, before Pacquiao could start his training, Roach regulated entry and only allowed those who have official business, like members of the press.

“But still there are some who can sneak inside. There are so many people outside (the gym), who are waiting for Manny to arrive. But we need to put everything in order now, we will have to limit entry so that Manny will not be disturbed during training,” said Salud.

Next week, an HBO crew will come to Cebu to shoot Pacquiao’s training. The footage will be used to plug the pay-per-view fight against Marco Antonio Barrera on Oct. 6 (Oct. 7, RP time) at the Mandalay Bay Hotel Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.

However, according to Salud, Roach will not deny Pacquiao’s fans from seeing their hero train. They have designated Saturdays as an “open house”.

Meanwhile, Pacquiao were all praises for the mountain terrain of Pardo where he had his morning run yesterday.

According to Pacquiao, the road, steepness and scenery at the Sta. Lucia-owned Vista Grande in Bulacao is better than his usual running place in Los Angeles. (RCM)
