PAL provides faster ticket booking online

PHILIPPINE Airlines (PAL) has enhanced the features of its Internet booking and electronic ticketing (e-ticket) facility, using a new Internet booking engine provided by PAL’s technology partner Datalex, that allows users to select the cheapest domestic fares as well as immediate confirmation of flight bookings.

The online booking link found at the PAL website (philippineairlines.com) now provides information on the lowest available domestic fares over a seven-day period as well as quick booking for any domestic flight, secured ticket payment and booking confirmation, all within minutes, eliminating the inconvenience of long queues at the ticket offices.

User-friendly

The user-friendly system immediately displays the ticket number and other flight information after payment through a credit card is accepted. Also included in the printable booking confirmation are the applicable fare rules and conditions.

The enhancements were made possible by connecting the online booking facility with PAL’s Reservations and Electronic Ticketing System and using a fully automated Payment Gateway System that does away with manual back-end handling.

Travel agents are also expected to benefit from the new facility, enabling them to serve their customers faster and more efficiently.

Before the end of the year, the enhanced booking-ticketing facility will be expanded to cover PAL’s international flights. b>(PR)
