Cebuanos advance in Korea

THE Cebuano junior netters moved to the third round of their respective divisions in the KCP Korea International Junior 12-under Tennis Championships at the Chorong-E Tennis Courts in Korea yesterday.

Jacob Lagman of St. Benedict Childhood Learning Center, advanced in the Boys 12-Under division after he trounced Cheo Yu, 6-3, 6-4.

In the doubles event, Lagman, who paired with Jurence Mendoza, sacked Koreans Jang Young Suk and Hao Won Sak, 6-3.

Another Cebuano, Vince Mark Tabotabo, entered the next round of the 10-Under with an 8-5 win over Gi Wom.

The other member of the RP team, Eric Olivarez of Manila, also earned a ticket to the third round of the 10-Under class after he trounced Kim Yu Su, 8-4.

In the distaff side of the Girls 12 class, Erika Lagura defeated Gun Yeon,6-4, 6-4 in the singles event. In the doubles contest, Lagura and Maika Tampuco defeated Jang Seo and Jeong Han Sol, 8-6. (MCB)
