Int’l hotel execs meet in Mactan property
THE Shangri-La group of hotels held a marketing conference last month at its Mactan Island Resort and Spa in Lapu-Lapu City to promote teamwork among hotel executives.
The marketing conference was participated in by 80 marketing and regional sales directors as well as corporate executives from properties in Australia, United Kingdom, United States, Middle East and Asia.
The race was conceptualized to showcase the innovative meetings and team-building activities that the Shangri-La properties offer to corporate guests, as well as be a firsthand collaborative experience for the marketing directors of different Shangri-La properties.
“The teambuilding activity is a unique, fun and enjoyable exercise for Shangri-La’s marketing directors,” said Timothy Wright, general manager of Shangri-La’s Mactan Resort and Spa. “Each aspect of the activity is designed to bring out the spirit of teamwork, initiative and winning attitude of each participant, which are key drivers of the hotel’s business.”
The three-day conference was also a venue for hotel executives to share marketing updates, trends, reports and best practices.
This year is the first time for Shangri-La’s Mactan Resort and Spa to host the conference.
Hong Kong-based Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts currently manages 50 hotels under Shangri-La and Traders brands with a rooms inventory of over 24,000.
