Style Watch, a glittering fashion event
FASHION forecast for summer of 2008, Metrowear and a bridal show—who doesn’t want to know what’s In or what’s Out or what’s Up next?
Add “open to the public,” and you have a great formula for success.
With the inspiring success of the previous Weddings at the Waterfront in 2002, 2003 and 2004, Waterfront Cebu City Hotel & Casino (WCCHC) brings back the glamour and trend-setting this year in its 10th anniversary celebration: Cebu’s biggest fashion three-day event, the Samsung Style Watch at the said hotel from Aug. 24 to Aug. 26.
The fashion show is a glittering series of nightly runway shows featuring the country’s top names in fashion design and their latest collections.
Perceived as the pinnacle of fashion events to take place in a long time, Style Watch convenes the biggest personalities in the fashion industry—from fashion designers to editors, make-up artists, models, and the country’s premier fashion show director, Jackie Aquino.
The opening day will be the Samsung Style Watch at the Waterfront Presents Clothes for Life. Fourteen designers will render a fashion forecast with their summer collection for 2008.
The participating designers are: Salvador Malto, Harley Ruedas, Ren Manabat, Joy Bernaldez, Protacio Empaces, Marichu Tan, Edwin Ao, Edwin Alba, Humberto Villegas, Wendell Quisido, Ray Kuan, Cary Santiago, Bryan Aloquin and Alian Fonte.
Day two will focus on Samsung Metrowear. The famed Metrowear series, spearheaded by Metro Magazine, will feature the Fashion Council of Cebu in their holiday collection, with Arcy Gayatin, Philip Rodriguez, Oj Hofer, Jun Escario, Ditas Rodriguez, Minnie Yuvienco, Albert Arriba, and Felix Yu.
On the third day, as in the past Waterfront shows, will be the time-honored Sposabella, a bridal runway show to feature 38 stunning bridal pieces from the country’s top designers from Cebu and Manila: Randy Ortiz, Anthony Nocom, Vilttorio Barba, JC Buendia, Rhett Eala, Arcy Gayatin, Patrice Ramos-Diaz, Philip Rodriguez, Oj Hofer, Jun Escario, Rajo Laurel, Joji Lloren, Dennis Lustico, Ivarluski Aseron, Ditas Rodriguez, Minnie Yuvienco, Albert Arriba, Felix Yu, and Monique Lhuillier.
The runway will be graced by close to 50 female and male models from Cebu and Manila. The whole production has almost 50 guests, crew and industry personalities flying to Cebu City for the three-day affair.
The glittery event is co-presented by Samsung, Metro Magazine, Waterfront Cebu City Hotel & Casino, Monterraazas de Cebu, Marrionaud and Metro Weddings Magazine. The event is also brought to you by Maidenform, Gucci, Hugo Boss Escada, Absolut, Basic Graphics, the Norkis Group of Companies, M.A.C. (Models Association of Cebu), Adrenaline X, D.O.T.S. (Design On Top Studio); and with media partners, Fashion TV, The Lifestyle Network, Philippine Star, Sun.Star Cebu, Cebu Daily News, and The Freeman.
