Wednesday, August 29, 2007 Food company eyes Cebu market, franchise buyers
A food company considers Cebu as a potential market and is looking for franchise buyers in the province.
Jeremiah Carpio of Potato Madness said there is a “huge” market in Cebu considering the many malls here. He added that the company did not realize this until it came to Cebu to participate in 8th Franchise Expo at the SM Trade Hall last Friday.
Carpio said that through the franchise expo, Potato Madness hopes to lure prospective franchisees and tap a new market.
“Joining the expo is our fist move to reach out” to the Cebu market, he said.
Jennifer Carpio of Potato Madness said the company is targeting schools because their product is more marketable to children and young people.
Potato Madness has a total of 21 branches, 11 of which are franchised.
“Hopefully, (there will be one) here in Cebu soon,” Jennifer said.
She said entrepreneurs will find the franchise attractive as one outlet can earn a gross income of about P8,000 for a whole-day operation.
Franchisees will need about P300,000 to start their own operations.
Potato Madness, a family-owned business, has been in the food industry for about five years. (TEP)
