Decore peels off Roofgard, 59-55

DECORE continued its winning streak, this time pulling a scary 59-55 win over top seed Roofgard to forge a rubber match for the second seat to the championship during the semifinal round of the 1st United Architects Basketball Club held last Sunday at the City Sports Club Gym-Cebu.

Lord Ong saved the day for Decore when their star players Jonathan Suico and John Sulay were totally checked by the tough defensive game of Roofgard.

Meanwhile, No. 2 team Plexibond grabbed the first seat to the finals following an equally thrilling 61-59 win over No. 3 seed Acrytex in the other game.

While Skimkote easily won fifth place as Permacote forfeited the game.

Trailing 9-12 in the opening quarter, Decore rallied hard to turn the tide around for a 28-25 lead at the half.

Decore continued to play an aggressive ball game and tough defense to keep the lead until the final buzzer.

Elmer Laguna was the other Decore player to score in double digits.

Glenn Osorio scored 20 points while Genaro Bejo logged a double-double 15 points 11 rebounds for Roofgard.
