Germany-based beauty firm opens first office in Cebu

GERMANY-based manufacturer of health and beauty products, LR Health and Beauty Systems (LR), is enthusiastic by the response of the Philippine market with the entry of the company’s product line.

“Everybody is talking about the Philippines now. We foresee the Philippine operations will overtake Germany in terms of sales in three years,” said Patrick Sostmann, LR global development manager.

LR is the biggest direct selling firm in Europe. It manufactures German made, aloe vera-based products, nutritional and food supplements, body care products as well signature perfume of international celebrities.

Sostmann further said that he considers the country as its entry point to conquer the Asia-Pacific region because of the Filipino’s skills and knowledge in multi-level marketing.

The 20-year-old company decided to tread the Philippine market due to LR’s experience in Australia where Filipinos were observed to have a remarkable performance in multi-level marketing. Sostmann said that multi-level marketing is the best strategy by which the company can penetrate the market.

He said that unlike other “mushrooming” companies that do multi-level marketing, LR is a “reputed German brand that manufactures its own products. LR products undergo rigid test to ensure the highest level of quality and affectivity in accordance with European standards.”

To make LR’s products especially perfumes more affordable to the Filipinos, the company is selling scents in small vials. These vials are supposedly used as product-samples in other countries like Germany and Australia.

Initially, LR will offer 60 of its products in the Philippines. However, LR will eventually expand the range of its product offering in the country. Around 5,000 individuals signed to join LR’s network during the first two weeks of its operations in the Philippines, which according to Sostmann is “phenomenal.”

LR’s Cebu office is located at Suite 223, 2nd level of Raintree Mall, Gen. Maxilom Avenue.
