Coop officer loses P17T to robbers in Pinamungajan

A LOAN officer and a collector for a cooperative lost P17,000 cash to two robbers in Barangay Guimbawian, Pinamungajan, Cebu Friday afternoon.

In Daanbantayan, two teenagers were caught in possession of items belonging to a vacationing couple.

Vaneliza Bayuno, 30, loan officer of the Lamac Multi-Purpose Cooperative in Pinamungajan town, was with collector Felix Bagahansol on their way to Barangay Poblacion from San Fernando town when Bagahansol stopped the motorcycle he was driving because there was a piece of wood blocking the road.

When they got off the motorcycle to move clear the road, two masked men armed with .38 revolvers approached them and declared a hold-up.

They immediately grabbed Bayuno’s bag containing the cash and her Nokia 3315 and then fled.

In the northern town of Daanbantayan, a couple would have lost P100,000 worth of valuables had policemen not caught the thieves.

The Carrol couple from Valenzuela City had been staying at the beach resort owned by Hippo Campos in Barangay Logon.

Dinner

They were out of their room having dinner when Dieter Yangan, 19, and Ugene Saladaga, 18, allegedly crept into their room.

The two reportedly detached four jalousie blades and helped themselves to the couple’s I-pod speaker, external hand drive, digital camera with waterproof casing, laptop computer, its accessories, a bag and a belt.

Two police officers happened to pass by and saw them bringing the items.

Since the two appeared suspicious, the officers stopped them and learned that they stole the items from the couple’s room. (MEA)
