Wednesday, September 12, 2007 Multi-use facility to open in Talamban soon
RESIDENTS in the northern part of Cebu will soon find a one-stop shop for their daily needs with the establishment of a new mixed-use facility in the area.
Cebu-based real estate developer Jo Brothers Development and Realty Corp. (JBDRC) has begun the construction of Italian-inspired Piazza Elesia located in Barangay Talamban, Cebu City.
“It’s not a lifestyle development but a mixed-used facility,” said Serecio Matthew Jo, JBDRC president.
The 4,200 square-meter (sq. m.) property is 90 percent finished, he said, as the facility is targeted to open next month.
In an interview with Sun.Star Cebu, Jo said the project is estimated to cost between P11 million and P15 million, including horizontal and vertical expansions.
The two buildings that compose the whole development will be home to various establishments, including a salon and spa, coffee shop, pharmacy and convenient shop and bank, among others.
Jo said potential locators will include offices, clinics and travel agencies.
The ground floor area is available for lease at P350 per sq.m. while the second floor costs P300 per sq.m. The parking lot is designed to accommodate more than 60 cars.
“If traffic will not improve, then at least people in these areas will not have to go to the malls for their small items. Parents can have coffee while waiting for their kids,” Jo said adding there is a market for this type of project, especially in the Talamban area, which is slowly becoming more congested.
Jo also said a 600 sq.m. building will be constructed within Piazza in three to four years. (MMM)
