LAST week, I shared the idea on how to create video tutorials online. To share video content, uploading it in sites like YouTube can help you spread the word. However, if you like to earn income from it, one of the popular website destinations today is Revver (www. revver.com).
Revver screens all video submissions. Those approved have an advertisement at the end of the process. If any of your video viewers end up clicking the ad, the account owner will earn advertisement revenue. Other Revver members who display your video in their site can also earn.
To cash in on this business, the key is the creation of multiple short quality videos that are worth watching.
Some projects you can consider are:
* Micro telenovelas. This can give way to independent artist who may want to create short flicks or micro telenovelas and publish it online.
* Your own TV show. You can create your own TV program, interview friends and upload it. Who knows, this might give you new opportunities later on.
* Documentary or exposé. Talk about issues affecting your community and cut it into several snippets. This will allow you to spread the word and create further awareness.
* Promote your music. Create your own original music video and use the site like a demo center to showcase your talent.
* Showcase interesting work. The experience of Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center (CPDRC) in promoting their program to the rest of the world should serve as an inspiration.
While taking a break here in Australia, the TV show i-Caught showed the CPDRC story and featured the prisoners participating in the Thriller dance video. The stigma that we normally have in relation with jail inmates (in which we think to ourselves, “I don’t want anything to do with them”)is diminished. This is replaced instead with the thought, “you guys are so great!”
It is amazing indeed that the online videos of CPDRC created a lot of appreciation for Cebu from the rest of the world. It resonates and gives positive impression on the kind of leaders we have here.
l Video tutorials. Put educational lectures, using proper visual aids, on video and upload it. These materials will be able to reach out to anyone in the world who has a strong desire to learn. Those with a lot of knowledge to share should be tapped and spread the word about them.
Perhaps it is about time that we create programs that give incentives or encourage the creation of original work for dissemination all over the world.
