Inspectors describe performance of region’s cops as ‘impressive’

AFTER hearing comments about the annual general inspection (AGI) team, Cebu City Police Office Director Patrocinio Comendador believes all the practice they did in preparation for the test “paid off.”

He also said they will continue with their rehearsals and hold rank inspections.

Comendador, though, said they were told to improve on the entry of the Special Weapons and Tactics (Swat) during the operational readiness security inspection test and evaluation (Orsite).

However, he believes his men will be able to do well if faced with the real situation.

All praises

“I know the Swat can react accordingly,” he said.

One of the inspectors also noted that the homicide investigator should not have gone to the crime scene before the Scene of the Crime Operations (Soco).

However, Comendador said the crime scene is part of the investigation and that control of the investigation rests with the Homicide Section.

He added that there were cases wherein the Soco was not needed in the area.

Though this was noted by inspectors, Comendador said this was not brought up during the exit briefing last Thursday.

Overall, inspectors praised the Police Regional Office 7 for its performance, noting the region improved from last year.

Chief Supt. Orlando Maddela called the performance “impressive” and said all units showed they were prepared for the AGI and Orsite. (MEA)
