Saturday, September 15, 2007 Only 1 Siso playing in Milo
BECAUSE of new rules banning athletes with international exposure from joining the 12th Milo Little Olympics, the powerhouse Siso household is just down to one representative in this year’s Milo event.
Sallydine Siso is carrying the banner of the tennis-playing siblings Sally Mae and Bernardine, who cannot compete this year because of the new rules.
Siso booked a quarterfinal outing in the resumption of the tennis competitions today at the Alta Vista Tennis courts.
Siso is playing in the secondary girls division and she will be taking on Sarah Choya of Cebu International School in today’s quarterfinal.
The other quarterfinalists in the girls division are Angeli Doroy of Tagbilaran, who is set to take on Joan Abarquez of University of San Jose Recoletos, Mary Ann Miñoza, who is booked to face Cheska Tabotabo of University of San Carlos South Campus.
Lilibeth Gaviola of Abellana National School will be taking on Kara Abadia of Sienna School of Naga.
Elementary
In the boys class, Larry Antigua of UV will be facing Anthony Peralta of Sacred Heart School Jesuit. Gerald Lambayan of USJ-R will take on Niño Remonde of Argao.
Lowell Lloyd Cañete of USC North will be facing Joel Pavo of UV, as Jess Anthony Espinosa tries to add another medal to UC’s brimming haul as he faces USJ-R’s Amiel Aya-ay.
All quarterfinals matches will be played this morning.
The elementary division, meanwhile, will wrap up today. Pressure will be on the shoulders of the elementary netters as they try to put their schools in the ranks of gold medal winners.
Argao Center for Learning’s Crissiane Kintanar hopes to snag her school’s first gold medal as she takes on Angleic Codoy in the girls finals today. (MCB)
