Speak out: ‘Overpriced’ PCs in Lapu-Lapu
By Ritchie D. Nolasco
Banilad, Cebu City

I AM not a resident of Lapu-Lapu City but I believe in transparency and accountability when it comes to governance.

I therefore express my support to the investigation into the purchase of computers involving Mayor Arturo Radaza and 19 other officials.

As a consumer, I know very well that personal computers (PCs) that come with Celeron CPUs and 256MB RAM don't cost P50,000 a unit.

In fact, they cost less than half that price.

For P50,000, a PC should come with at least 512MB RAM and a CPU more advanced than Pentium 4. The purchase is very suspicious.

As for the company that sold those questionably priced computers, somebody should check its financial records and tax returns.

I really feel that taxpayers' money was wasted here.

Before they think of mudslinging, the first thing city officials should do is answer the charge against them.

If they won't do this, then they don't deserve public trust at all. This goes the same with all other government officials everywhere.

Wake up and smell the coffee. It's time to tell the truth if you want to keep your posts.
