Resort, golf club tie up to lure more clients

WITH its aim to further increase its guest volume and boost tourism through sports, a local resort has partnered with a sports facility to offer a golf package to local and foreign clients.

Together with the Mactan Island Golf Club, Plantation Bay Resort and Spa is offering golf through its Weekend/Weekday Golf package, Plantation Bay Resort and Spa public relations officer, Dianne Gandionco told Sun.Star Cebu in an e-mail.

The partnership is seen to promote a unique experience on sports that would lure golf enthusiasts and leisure seekers alike, the company said in a statement.

Laidback

This would also provide them a challenging golf game while they bask in the “relaxing ambience of Plantation’s charming outdoor laidback flair,” it added.

The service will also allow foreign and local clients to take pleasure in a “hassle-free and relaxing golf experience just 20 minutes away from the resort.”

Tourism and leisure activities go hand in hand, and golf is just one of them, Gandionco said.

Boost

She said while it will boost business for both companies, it would also encourage tourists to come back.

Aside from the rich underwater life and historical spots, various leisure and relaxation activities that people can engage into are the main attractions in the country, Russian Federation Ambassador Vitaly Vorobiev told the press during his visit in Cebu two months ago.

High-end recreational activities should be offered as an additional amenity as local and foreign clients would expect it from a five-star resort, Gandionco said. (TEP)
