Caretaker, angered by jokes, stabs 3 boarders
TIRED of being made the laughingstock of his boarders, a 66-year-old house caretaker allegedly stabbed three construction workers in Barangay Apas, Cebu City early yesterday morning.
Jerry Borja, 39, Jason Dello, 24, and Arnulfo Limbo, 23, were all sleeping in the second floor of the house owned by Bernardo Zamora when Fernando Medina stabbed them.
Medina lives in Barangay Parian, Cebu City but watches over Zamora’s house.
Borja was found lifeless on the floor beside his bed with four stab wounds on his chest.
Dello and Limbo, both natives of Negros Occidental, were also stabbed but were able to run out of the house.
Dello was rushed to the Cebu City Medical Center, where he died a few minutes later.
Limbo is recovering from a stab wound on his left chest at the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center.
Medina tried to escape but bystanders chased and mauled him before responding policemen arrived to arrest him.
A 7-inch knife was recovered from him.
Medina is detained at the Cebu City Police Office. He said he is tired of the three victims discriminating against him and making jokes about him.
In another incident, a mother stabbed her daughter in Compostela, northern Cebu.
Alicia Lansam, 49, said she was so angry with her daughter, 18-year-old Karren Alforque Lansam, who kept going out especially at night.
Alicia stabbed Karren’s legs Wednesday afternoon.
Karren was rushed to the Danao City District Hospital while Alicia and her 57-year-old husband, Cesar, were taken to the Compostela Police Station.
After she was released from the hospital, Karren decided not to file charges against her parents.
Her elder sister is taking care of her. (NRC)
