Isle of Man shoots for 2nd win

AFTER suffering its first defeat from the hands of the rejuvenated Aldritz Pau Liniment Nine, the emerging powerhouse Isle Of Man will try to jump back into the winning column when they play a double header against Pusok All-Star in the Amateur Softball Association of Cebu City-organized tournament at the San Roque Field in Wireless, Mandaue City today.

IOM suffered a 4-7 setback against Aldritz Pau last Sunday to yield the top rank in the team standings in this double-round robin tournament.

“We just hope for the best. Actually we are not as strong as we were a month ago and our opponents are getting strong,” said playing coach Goody de la Cerna.

IOM and Pusok will play one game in the morning and another in the afternoon that would push the winner to second place.

IOM will again rely on its heavy slugger Alintone Adolfo, Teofilo Sadaya and the youthful Allen Diniola Louie Ramos in gunning for their second win.

Aldritz Pau, on the other hand, will try to protect its lead when they play M. Lhuillier Sports Development Foundation squad in the morning game.

Last Sunday, Aldritz Pau also scored an 8-2 rout over MLSDF and a win would ensure them of a place in the top two as it still has to play Pusok and will have one more game with the Isle Of Man. (RCM)
