Saturday, October 13, 2007 Go: Party Nation By Charlene Go Lakwatsa
TRANCE is one of the most popular and fastest growing genres of music we have today, which Filipinos also appreciate.
Though the rest of the world may perceive the Philippines as still quite “backward,” that perception is certainly incorrect in the party department!
With all the events and the parties that we had the last couple of years, there was one party last weekend, which I made sure I would not miss! I made my way to the big, bustling city of Makati where I found myself in another extraordinary event that brought together friends from all over the country.
Partygoers from Cagayan de Oro, Davao and Cebu made their way to A.Venue in Makati Avenue. It was to party with top DJ who holds the second spot in the prestigious public-voted DJ Top 100, Armin Van Buuren.
Armin’s popularity continues to grow as he produces music that draws current Armin followers and newbies to the scene. And what makes his music so distinctive? According to him, “It’s no longer a specific kind of music within the dance scene; it has elements of all different types of music within the dance scene.”

If there is one thing that can get the best of us, it has to be music. Right here in the Queen City of the South, Samsung threw a celebration of music, glamour and style with Samsung Mobile Hitstop Party at Formo Resto-Lounge at the Banilad Town Center. A stunning street glam fashion show, directed by Jackie Aquino, featured the collection of Cebu’s top designers Ray Kuan, Edwin Ao, and Protacio. The collections were flaunted by none other than the MAC Models as guests indulged themselves in overflowing cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, and danced to the hip-hop beats of 032.
