Mandaue-CDTP takes two golds in DSCP event

JUST two months since its inception, the Mandaue-based Center for Dancesport Training Philippines (CDTP) pulled off a remarkable finish in the 11th Dancesport Council of the Philippines Inc. National Championships at the Philsports Arena in Pasig last weekend.

The team was able to go home with two golds, two silvers, two bronzes and a number of decent finishes in the competition.

Leading the way for CDTP is the internationalist pair of Jefferson Pimentel and Virgianie Oyao, who lived up to their lofty billing and hogged the limelight in the Latin dances of the Youth A division. Teammates Kevin Miñoza and Rodah Mae Fernandez also took the third place.

Productive tandem

Another productive tandem for the team were Joselito Millan and Marie Bernafe Malazarte, who won one gold and one silver. They topped the Latin event of the Grade E division and finished second in the Latin event of the Grade D division.

Jojie Pasicaran and Susan Luizen also copped a silver medal in the Senior C Standard class.

CDTP head coach Tomas Auden Ingan and partner Ariadne Velasquez salvaged a bronze in the Latin dance of the Special Event 1F class.

The other achievements of the team were a fifth place finish in the Latin Grade E from Joseph Jojie Pasicaran and Jennifer T. Mirasol; fifth and sixth place finishes of Niño Dranreb Malazarte and Sabrina Ruth Bogard and Vhinz Jansen Dacua and Marion Nilsson, respectively, in the Juvenile Latin.

Ernhel Dorelle Sarnillo and Hannah Joie Jayme Soon also finished fourth in the Latin Youth C event. (MCB)
