Uybengkee tops 7th SM Bowling Cup

CYNTHIA Uybengkee leaned on a high-scoring game to win the fourth monthly finals of the 7th SM Bowling Cup the other weekend at the SM Bowling Center.

Uybengkee posted the highest scratch of 255 to boost her total production of 2,031 pinfalls in nine games to pocket the P12,000 top plum.

Uybengkee put a fitting end to her campaign as she registered her highest performance in the ninth and final game to win the crown.

Eventual second placer Miles Cabia finished way behind Uybengkee with just 1,970 pinfalls.

Cabia actually had higher average pinfalls per game compared to the champion and was even able to post 214 pinfalls thrice and even scored 228 pinfalls in game 4. However, Uybengkee’s last-minute assault arrested Cabia’s run.

Cynthia Kua finished the competition with 1,960 pinfalls good for third. Cabia and Kua pocketed P6,000 and P4,000, respectively, for their feats.

Beth Ngo, who ended the game with 1,946 placed fourth, while Jake Yap was the only male bowler in the top five after finishing with 1,900 pinfalls. Boy Gacho, Boy Kua, Art Dacumos and Inday de Gracia took the next four spots, respectively. (MCB)
