CNU students hold ad exhibit

MASS Communication students of Cebu Normal University (CNU) recently held an advertisement exhibit, which featured unconventional concepts.

The third year students’ activity was entitled “Pop Out: Moving Target (The First CNU Advertising Congress).”

Tiffany Calabroso said they wanted to present advertising strategies that were unlike from the traditional ones.

The advertisement posters in the exhibit were individual projects of the students for their Media Management and Production subject under their adviser and Sun.Star Cebu columnist Januar Yap.

The class was divided and assigned to handle two productions—the Pop Out and the Green Screen, an environmental program.

The class pioneered the holding of the event, which was inspired by last year’s film festival “Puting Tabil.”

Meanwhile, CNU students and guests were entertained by Bisrock bands during the exhibit. The participating bands were Phylum, Wet Slipperz, Dalan, Late Weekend, Maka-dawa, Stone Stomp, D’ Kazins, Session of the Fighters and Levimaboram.

Seminars

During the exhibit, there was also a series of seminars by Calabroso, Alex Uypuangco and Fr. Fidel Orendain.

There was also a fashion show by local fashion designers Harley Ruedas, Edwin Alba and Ronald Enrico.

The event was sponsored by Sun.Star Cebu, Honda, Zagu, Waffle Time, Sun Cellular, Camp Cebu and Studio 125.

Calabroso said they want the event to continue and eventually become a tradition. (Brigette D. Hilongo, UP Mass Comm)
