Thursday, November 01, 2007 Cops file raps vs. disc jock for drug possession, selling
COMPLAINTS for selling and possession of illegal drugs have been filed against a disc jockey who was arrested last Saturday by operatives of the Cebu City Anti-Illegal Drug Special Operations Task Force (CAIDSOTF).
Mon Angelo T. Congmon, 27, is facing a non-bailable offense.
In his affidavit, PO2 Andrew Ilagan narrated that they planned the buy-bust against Congmon after their informant told them that the latter has plenty of stocks of Ecstasy, a known party drug.
Congmon was subjected to surveillance since Oct. 6. A test buy on him showed that he was selling the drug.
Ilagan, the designated poseur buyer, said he gave Congmon P1,000 in exchange for a tablet of Ecstacy.
After the buy-bust was consummated, Ilagan and his companions arrested Congmon.
A total of 48 Ecstasy tablets, including the one bought during the buy-bust, were confiscated from Congmon. The seized drugs were colored pink and orange.
Police estimated the total amount of seized drugs at P48,000.
Congmon’s supply reportedly came from Manila; he deals his stuff in high-end bars.
He was the second person to be arrested in Cebu City in relation to the police’s campaign against Ecstasy.
The first arrest was in February 2003 when a combined team from the Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Bureau, Vice Control Section and Drug Enforcement Unit arrested Richard Lo.
CAIDSOTF Chief Pablo Labra II explained that an Ecstasy, when taken, has the same effect as shabu because the main ingredient is also methamphetamine. (KNT)
