Girl, 17, left for dead in Toledo

A 17-YEAR-OLD girl who was believed to have been bludgeoned to death with a rock was found in a vacant lot in Barangay Sangi, Toledo City, Cebu yesterday morning.

With the help of the victim’s mother, investigators from the Toledo City Police Station identified her as Kenneth S. Dicdican, who resided in the neighboring Barangay Luray II.

Barangay Sangi is about two kilometers away from the city proper.

Policemen led by SPO2 Joseph Mangle found a bloodstained rock near Dicdican’s body.

According to a blotter entry read by desk officer SPO2 Gil Lastimosa over the telephone, Dicdican suffered severe injuries in the face, head and body.

Lastimosa told Sun.Star Cebu that Dicdican’s body was taken to St. Francis Funeral Homes for autopsy. An examination will also be conducted to determine if the victim was sexually abused.

Initial investigation gathered by Mangle’s team from a witness showed that Dicdican was last seen at 11 p.m. Tuesday, being met by three men near the crime scene.

She was allegedly brought by the men inside a nearby comfort room.

Dicdican’s black blouse, denim shorts and undergarments were still on when the police found her body. (JST)
