New routes apply around Mandaue cemeteries

ALL traffic surrounding the two public cemeteries in Barangay Guizo will be rerouted today and tomorrow on orders of the Mandaue City Traffic Office, headed by Maj. Cristobal Guido.

The change will affect public utility jeepneys (PUJ) from Cebu City bound for Mandaue, specifically those headed for Ibabao and Ouano wharf.

Also affected are PUJs from Country Mall heading for Mandaue City, and tricycles from Barangay Maguikay bound for the Mandaue public market.

The rerouting will not affect tricycles serving routes in Barangays Opao, Labogon, Paknaan, Looc and Umapad.

One private and one public cemetery occupy most of a city block in Barangay Guizo.

No traffic will be allowed on the road in front of the cemetery, B.B. Cabahug St., from the corner of M. Sanchez to A.S.
Fortuna until tomorrow.

The road along one side of the cemetery, L. Jayme St. from the corner of M.C. Briones to B.B. Cabahug St., will also be
closed.

PUJs from Cebu City to Ibabao and Ouano wharf will have to take Lopez Jaena St., proceed to A. del Rosario St. then make the appropriate turn at S.B. Cabahug St. (OCP)
