Espina: Cebu’s civic leaders in ‘Women Legends’
By Mila Espina
In my diary

THE photos on this page are Cebu’s renowned career achievers and civic leaders who are generously giving their time and resources to help the Zonta Club of Cebu 1 maintain its livelihood and day care programs in Budlaan and Ermita.

The fund-raising get-together, called Women Legends. It tarts with cocktails at 6 p.m., then a fun-filled fashion-musical diorama, with a sense of history and spoof on the world’s mythic and historic women, an interplay of colorful costumes, music and soliloquies, at 8 p.m. at the ballroom of Marco Polo Plaza Hotel on Monday, Nov. 26.

The one-and-a half hour production is made possible through the sponsorship of Island Souvenirs for the stage backdrop; the co-sponsorship of Cebu Pacific Video and the IPI for the stage, sound and lights; and, of course, the generosity of GM Hans Hauri for the hotel’s services and facilities par excellence. We also thank Cafe Laguna, Anita’s Bakeshop, Edward and Eleanor Hayco, Cebu City Dancesports, Sun.Star Cebu, the USJ-R performers, Gani and Gloria Villarojo, Consul John Domingo, Chris Libumfacil, Dawnie Roa, plus renowned personalities for special cameo roles.

We won’t tell you the roles our lovely women will portray. You have to see it to believe it. Yes, from the Biblical to contemporary, our Woman Legends, famous or “infamous,” have the best time of their lives.
