Cebu City Olympics opens today

THE 17TH Cebu City Olymics will be opening this morning at the Cebu City Sports Center. An estimated 5,000 athletes from different schools all over Cebu City are expected to joing the event.

The tournament will stage competitions in archery, arnis, athletics, badminton, baseball, basketball, boxing, chess, dance sport, football, gymnastics, karatedo, lawn tennis, scrabble, sepak takraw, softball, swimming, table tennis, taekwondo, and volleyball.

The Olympic urn will be lit by Palarong Pambansa 2007 track and field gold medalist Lindly Navaja. (EKA)
