Magnolia fights Red Bull

MANILA - Current second placers Magnolia Beverage and Talk ‘N Text part ways today when they face separate foes in the 2007 Smart-PBA Philippine Cup at the Araneta Coliseum.

Both teams have identical 5-3 win-loss slates. The Phone Pals face Air21 Express in the first match at 4:50 p.m., while the Beverage Masters take on Red Bull Barako in the nightcap at 7:20 p.m.

Magnolia and Talk ‘N Text are fresh off respective victories against separate opponents. Magnolia defeated Barangay Ginebra, 101-90, while Talk ‘N Text defeated Coca-Cola, 113-88 last Sunday.

The Barakos holds the possibility of giving the Beverage Masters a strong opposition by virtue of their stunning 87-74 triumph over pace-setter Purefoods.

On the other hand, the Express comes from an impressive 102-95 win over Barangay Ginebra, which failed to capitalize on the return of Erik Menk and Mark Caguioa last Nov. 16. (FCC)
