Tuesday, November 27, 2007 ‘Drugs’ behind salvaging in Busay
INVESTIGATORS are studying a drug-related angle in the shooting of a man in Barangay Busay two weeks ago.
Cebu City Police Office Director Patrocinio Comendador said he is confident they will be able to solve the case because they have strong leads.
As for the incident Sunday dawn, Comendador said they will have to identify the man before they can proceed.
Taped
A man’s body was found in Barangay Babag. His face, hands and feet were bound with packaging tape.
No one saw what happened as the area is isolated and most of the residents were asleep.
Some residents, though, heard gunshots past 2 a.m.
Police recovered shells from a .45 pistol and a 9mm pistol in the crime scene.
They are now trying to connect Sunday dawn’s killing with the salvaging incident in Upper Busay last Nov. 11.
Witness
In the Nov. 11 incident, the man was identified as Sergio Pagobo, 22, of Sitio Matab-ang, Barangay Day-as, Cordova town.
He was found in an uphill area of Sitio Grahe, Barangay Busay.
A witness had told police that a black Kia Pride car sped off after three gunshots were heard. An empty shell from a .45 pistol was recovered from the scene.
It appeared that Pagobo was shot in the mouth as the slug went through the back of his head. Another gunshot wound was found on his left temple.
Comendador said the Homicide Section has requested the Regional Crime Laboratory to cross match the shells found in last Sunday’s incident with the shell recovered near Pagobo’s body. (MEA)
