Springdale eyes experienced ANS players for Cviraa

THE CEBU City Olympics secondary division football champions Paref-Springdale will reinforce its team with players from first runnerup Abellana National School (ANS) for Central Visayas Regional Athletic Association (Cviraa) this coming February in Tagbilaran City.

According to coach Mario Ceniza, Springdale, which ousted ANS from its stranglehold of the title, has little experience for this kind of tournament as it only has three players in its current roster who have been to Cviraa.

To help fill the gap, Ceniza is eyeing three players from ANS who have been to the Palarong Pambansa.

Paref-Springdale’s football team is currently having a rest and will start their training on Tuesday next week.

“I’m giving my team a well deserved rest after our win in the Cebu City Olympics. We will be starting our training next week. We currently have 14 players in our team and we have 5 prospect players from ANS,” Ceniza said in an interview by Sun.Star.

Coach Ceniza is setting a training program for his players and will use the players performance in the program to base which 15 players he will bring to Cviraa.

“I want a competitive team. So I’m setting this training program for them so that I will know which player deserves to be with the team. We will be practicing thrice a week and in the last month before the tournament we will have an extensive training four times a week,” said Ceniza. (EKA)
