Wizards trick Raptors

WASHINGTON—Caron Butler scored 29 points, Antawn Jamison had 28, and the Washington Wizards beat the Toronto Raptors 101-97 in an NBA game in which each team was missing its best player on Saturday.

Butler went 10-for-18 from the field and added seven assists. Jamison was 11-for-18 and had 14 rebounds for the Wizards, who shot 56 percent.

The Wizards improved to 5-4 without Gilbert Arenas, who is out several months with a knee injury, while Toronto is 1-1 without Chris Bosh, who did not make the trip because of a strained right groin.

Jason Kapono scored a season-high 23 points for the Raptors, and rookie Jamario Moon set season highs with 16 points and 13 rebounds. Anthony Parker scored 18 points.

Nets 94, 76ers 92, OT

In East Rutherford, New Jersey, Vince Carter came off the bench to score 24 points, helping New Jersey end a five-game home losing streak.

Jason Kidd equaled his season high with 19 points for the Nets. Richard Jefferson had 23 and Antoine Wright 15.

Andre Iguodala paced Philadelphia with 24. Kyle Korver and Andre Miller each had 14 and Louis Williams 13. Samuel Dalembert had six points and 16 rebounds.

Grizzlies 109, Timberwolves 80

In Memphis, Tennessee, Rudy Gay scored 21 points, Mike Miller added 18 points and a season-high 14 rebounds, and Memphis won for the third time in four games.

Stromile Swift added 16 points and 10 rebounds for Memphis, while Juan Carlos Navarro and Damon Stoudamire finished with 14 points apiece. Pau Gasol scored 13 points.

Rashad McCants scored 18 points and Sebastian Telfair had 16 for Minnesota, which was held to its lowest point total of the season and has lost eight of nine.

Hornets 112, Mavericks 108, OT

In New Orleans, Chris Paul had 33 points, 12 assists and nine rebounds, and New Orleans snapped a 21-game losing streak against Dallas that dated to November 1999.

Peja Stojakovic hit a game-tying 3-pointer with 2.9 seconds left in regulation and finished with 22 points, while Tyson Chandler added 21 points and 13 rebounds. David West scored 11 points and grabbed 14 rebounds for New Orleans.

Josh Howard, Jason Terry and Dirk Nowitzki scored 19 points apiece for Dallas, while Jerry Stackhouse added 18.

Bulls 111, Bobcats 95

In Chicago, Ben Gordon scored 34 points, Luol Deng added 29, and Chicago beat Charlotte to win consecutive games for the first time this season.

Ben Wallace grabbed 19 rebounds and added 10 points for the Bulls, who shot 54 percent from the field.

The Bobcats have dropped five straight after an impressive start. Jason Richardson scored 22 points and Emeka Okafor added 21 points and nine rebounds.

Pistons 117, Bucks 91

In Milwaukee, Tayshaun Prince scored 20 points and Detroit put away Milwaukee early.

Chauncey Billups added 18 points and nine assists, Rasheed Wallace had 15 points and 10 rebounds, and reserve Jason Maxiell scored 13 points.

Bobby Simmons and Charlie Villanueva led the Bucks with 13 points, but that came with the game already decided. (AP)
