DECEMBER is not only for commemorating the infant Jesus’ birth, for with its festive air, a string of holidays, the sound and fury of fireworks, the ringing of carols…this month could very well be a season of remembering, of rekindling, and of renewing.
Trust the Green Archers to cook up something exciting and energizing for its alumni in Cebu. We got hold of Jigs Arquiza,a Green Archer who gave us this party talk. The One La Salle Cebu Alumni Assn., formerly known as DLSAA-CC, composed of La Sallites based in Cebu had a blast of a Christmas shindig at d’Vine Wines and Deli.
What made the blast most memorable was Atenean Manny Amador with bandmates Tim and Ian Blanco. Am I reading this right? A Green Archers party with music by a Blue Eagle? Of course, the dancing was so infectious, even the Shy Girls joined the fun. And what fun it was with wines, spirits, food and camaraderie galore.

How does one feel at "five"? If one is in business, five means that one has hurdled the “novelty” period, and is pretty much entrenched in the industry.
We’re talking here of X-Salon Hair and Reducing Salon at Northgate Center in Banilad.
The center, given its enviable location, has attracted the cream of the crop, ladies of leisure, health and facial conscious gals, and you-name-her.
Proprietress and glamorous entrepreneur Lalaine Porras-Espiritu had an open-house anniversary bash. The place has everything at a fabulous discount.
We’ve tried it, and emerged a new woman! That’s not the only thing she was celebrating.
For being the astute businesswoman that she is, Gloria Jeans Coffee (franchise that she handles) is setting its sights on SM’s Northwing, where upscale clients are now locating. At present, Gloria Jeans Coffee outlets are located at Banilad Town Centre and on the Boulevard.

Café Laguna and Laguna Garden Café marked joint anniversaries recently, and this makes Café’s foundress Julita Urbina ecstatically happy. They tendered an anniversary lunch for top clients at the newly refurbished second floor. It has metamorphosed into a cavernous ballroom with world-class amenities. Sound system and sliding dividers allow several functions simultaneously. Kudos to architect-interior designer Albert Garbanzos for this.
Indeed busy as were Lita's daughters Grace Absin and Jill Viado, who are fast learning the culinary ropes. Looking on was patriarch Ric Urbina.

The green-thumbed Ikebana ladies were at their fashion-pretty best at the Ikebana Int’l of Manila’s Chapter 108 exhibit at the Shangri-La mall. Cebu’s ladies were not at all upstaged by their Manila counterparts, as shown in this photo. Just take a peek at their arrangements.
