SHANGRI-LA'S Mactan Resort and Spa (SMRS), Cebu presents a tempting array of Christmas dining options and entertainment to capture the spirit of the festive season, with each of the hotel’s restaurants and lounges offering a tempting lineup on top of its regular fare.
In addition to their á la carte menus, Acqua and Tides restaurants are offering a selection of special Christmas dishes on Dec. 22. At 6 p.m. the Santo Niño Children’s Choir (SNCC) performs Christmas classics and folk songs at the Lobby Lounge, and at 7:15 p.m. fire dancers will perform a unique tribal-infused dance while spinning fire-lit ribbons at the Tides Piazza.
Acqua’s popular “Sparkling Sundays” lunch promotion returns on 23 Dec. 23, offering guests a choice of more than 30 dishes in individual servings priced at only P300 per dish, as well as Prosecco sparkling wine priced at only P300 per bottle. The SNCC performs Christmas classics and folk songs at the Lobby Lounge at 6:00 p.m., and fire dancers perform at the Tides Piazza on the same day, at 7:15 p.m.
Acqua and Cowrie Cove are offering special set dinner menus on Christmas Eve, while the “Noche Buena” lunch and dinner buffet is available at Tides restaurant. The “Noche Buena” is a well-loved Filipino tradition of kith and kin coming together to partake of a spread of lavish food to toast the Christmas season. Christmas Eve entertainment will include a “Fantastic Acrobatics” show at the Buko Bar gardens at 4 p.m. and the Celestial Voices Choir performing at the Lobby Lounge at 6 p.m. All are welcome to attend the Christmas Eve Mass at the Ocean Pavilion at 6:30 p.m.
On Christmas Day, Acqua is offering a lunch spread of festive Italian favorites with the “Dolce Natale” lunch buffet, and for dinner, a special four-course menu of Christmas dishes is available, in addition to the restaurant’s á la carte menu. Guests at Tides can enjoy a special Christmas Day lunch and dinner buffet, while Cowrie Cove is offering a special Christmas Day dinner menu.
New Year’s Eve sees the Fantastic Acrobatics show returning to the Buko Bar gardens at 4 p.m. to delight the audience with professional acrobatic performers twisting, contorting and leaping to fantastic heights. For dinner, guests have the choice of a buffet at Tides, a special six-course dinner at Acqua, or a special five-course dinner at Cowrie Cove.
The New Year’s Eve Countdown Party begins at 10 p.m. at the resort’s Golf Park. Entrance is complimentary to all registered in-house guests, while walk-in guests may purchase a ticket to the event for a minimal fee at the Private Collection shop.
On New Year’s Day a Catholic Mass will be held at the Ocean Pavilion. A lavish lunch buffet is available at Tides or Acqua, and for those who prefer a lighter lunch, Tea of Spring offers an extensive selection of dim sum and contemporary Chinese entrées, complemented by a selection of over 50 varieties of tea.
