Lotto tickets now cost P20
THE Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) will finally increase the price of its “6/49 Super Lotto” tickets from P10 to P20 starting today’s draw.
The increase was supposed to be implemented last year but this was held in abeyance upon the instruction of President Arroyo.
PCSO, which is giving charity aid to the less fortunate Filipinos out of the lotto proceeds, is under the Office of the President.
William Medici, general manager for PCSO Visayas-Mindanao operations, said 6/49 Super Lotto is the choice of six out of 49 numbers and had a minimum guaranteed winnings of P8 million when the price was still P10 per six-number combination.
It also had minor winnings such as P28,000 for five numbers in a ticket, P800 for four numbers and P60 for three numbers.
Medici said that starting today’s draw at P20 for every six-number combination, the minimum guaranteed winning is doubled at P16 million. The minor winnings are also increased to P56,000 for five numbers, P1,000 for four numbers and P100 for three numbers.
The lotto draw is held at 9:00 p.m. every Thursday and Sunday.
Medici said that if there is no winner in today’s draw, the P16 million will increase because 24 percent of the ticket sales for tomorrow, Saturday and Sunday will be added to it for the Sunday draw.
He said the jackpot will be determined during the draw break at 8:30 p.m. on Sunday.
Medici also said that the other lotto products such as 6/42, 6/45, Swertres, 4D and AZ2 remain at P10 per ticket.
The 6/42 has a minimum guaranteed winning of P3 million while 6/45 has P4.5 million. (EOB)
