Streetcleaner sues boss for sexual harassment

A FEMALE job-order employee finally filed Wednesday an administrative case against her male superior who allegedly abused her sexually for nearly a year.

City Administrator Richel Bacaltos yesterday confirmed that the victim (name withheld), a street cleaner, submitted her formal complaint to City Legal Officer Owen Algoso.

The girl took the courage to reveal her ordeal when she sought the help of the Talisay City PNP Women’s Desk.

She had it recorded in the police blotter last Sept. 20 at 1:20 p.m.

In the blotter, she accused a regular City Hall employee of abusing her from Oct. 13, 2006 to Sept. 14, 2007 at the Talisay City Sports Complex.

Termination

She allegedly yielded to the suspect’s sexual desire,as she was reportedly warned that she will be dismissed from her job.

Sun.Star Cebu is withholding his name pending his comment on the complaint against him.

Sun.Star Superbalita earlier came out with an exclusive story that two female workers were made to play with the genitals of their superiors in exchange for the signing of their daily time records.

They reportedly revealed their harrowing experience to Talisay City Councilor Edward Alesna, head of the committee on laws.

However, Alesna, a first-term legislator, earlier refused to confirm the report.

As of yesterday, the accused regular worker is still on duty status.

But Bacaltos said a grievance committee will determine whether the administrative case warrants a preventive suspension of the employee.

As far he knew, Bacaltos said, only one female street cleaner had allegedly suffered such an ordeal in the hands of their superior.

“The complaint of the other female job-order was more on unfair treatment,” he added. (GC)
