IN time for Christmas, close to 600 residents of Barangay Tinubdan, San Fernando got free medical checkups, medicines and vitamins.
Taiheiyo Cement Philippines Inc. (TCPI) and Solid Earth Development Corp. extended community service to their neighbors in a medical mission that served 216 pre-registered patients and 364 others who just walked in.
School authorities and six doctors, including TCPI company-physician Dr. Ildebrando Estella, contributed to the success of the medical mission held inside the Tinubdan Elementary School.
Tinubdan Barangay Captain Remegio S. Alicaway Jr. led barangay officials and barangay health workers in providing assistance to the organizers of the activity.

The common illnesses encountered by the medical mission team were hypertension, muscle pains, upper respiratory tract infection, urinary tract infection, rhinitis and acute gastritis on adults as well as impetigo and cough on children.
“Tinubdan” is the Cebuano word for source.
TCPI became a source of goodwill and hope for its neighbors with the medical mission.
