Wednesday, January 09, 2008 The view at Vatican deck
CHRISTIANS are always reminded of God’s presence. They experience life enlightening events that move them as children of God and strengthen their faith. Aside from the wonders of the world, an evident sign of God’s flourishing love for them, there are also those who stand up for their faith.
One such embodiment is Pope John Paul.
“His great hope is to awaken the entire world to the dignity and responsibility of defending human rights,” Cardinal Roger Etchegaray told the Washington Post.
In February 2004, Pope John Paul II was nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize honoring his life’s work in opposing Communist oppression and helping to reshape the world.
Pope John Paul is the most tireless moral voice of a secular age, he reminded humankind of the worth of individuals in the modern world.
Though some people never met him, Pope John Paul has always been a part of their lives. He had held the faith together. In memory of Pope John Paul, Golden Haven gives people the chance to be reminded.
At the highest peak of Phase I of Golden Haven there settle the Pope John Paul Memorial Hill. A statue of Pope John Paul stands high reaching to the sky telling people that God is always there. Just a few steps away is the Vatican Deck. Much like the balcony of St. Peter’s Square or the veranda of Castel Gandolfo where the Pope addresses millions of people, Golden Haven’s Vatican Deck overlooks the entire park from above.
The deck is developed just like a pocket park where the whole family can gather around and enjoy the beauty of nature. Benches are put up by the deck and trees provide shade from the sun. Flowers are planted around the trees and the whole area satisfying the family’s need for serenity.
The view of the whole Phase I alone is breathtaking. Atop the hill the Vatican Deck offers a clear view of the world. Here one will see the beauty of nature at its best. For free site visits, one may inquire at Golden Haven Office at 4th flr. Ongtiak Bldg., Gen. Maxilom Ave., Cebu City.
