Go: White party
By Charlene Go
Lakwatsa

THE New Year is a symbol of beginnings, opportunities and second chances.

For most, it is important to start the new year right but most importantly, it is also essential that we end the previous year right.

There’s no better way of saying thanks and capping off 2007 than with a huge celebration and of course welcoming 2008 with a huge hooray!

One of the parties that we have made into a tradition is Invierno, the year-ender white party at Club Vudu. As dynamic duo, DJ Hans and Mael of Y101’s Main Room spun the mixes and partygoers enjoyed this one of a kind snowy tradition.

Expectant for greater things to come for 2008, the enchanting Shangri-La’s Mactan Resort and Spa prepared another exciting New Year’s bash for foreign visitors and locals alike. With over 30 nationalities present at the new years countdown, they welcomed 2008 in colorful retro! To jumpstart the party, Shangri-La boasted of their newest lobby lounge band, the Velvet Mood Band and building up to the countdown, the Philippines’ number one retro-pop band and Aliw award-winning group, Retrospect, set the crowd on party mode as we awaited the coming of 2008.

However, the party didn’t end there. Familiar faces gathered at Formo in BTC, and Cue Cafe and Club VUDU at the Crossroads after 1:30 a.m.

Many of us believe that it is important to start your year right as it will dictate the flow of how the rest of your year will go but for those that didn’t quite start it right, it’s never too late to make it better.
