Saturday, January 12, 2008 Registrar to be transferred to Bohol
THE Land Transportation Office (LTO) 7 started a revamp even as Director Raul Aguilus created a management team to advise him on their day-to-day operations, to improve service and curb irregular transactions.
“I am replacing two of our division chiefs and transferring them to another office in order to create a new management team that would advise me as far as major decisions are concerned,” Aguilus said.
The management team will also help him implement LTO policies and rules, he said, while the agency faces congressional scrutiny over allegations on the registration of smuggled vehicles in Cebu.
“This is just one of my first official acts. A bigger reshuffling of officials and personnel will be conducted soon to make them more effective,” Aguilus said.
The management team will be composed of Assistant Regional Director Edgar Cabase, administrative division chief Maki Taberas, operations chief Joel Maloloy-on, finance chief Jinky Estrada and legal officer Vicente Gador Jr.
“At least, with this team, I believe and am confident that I will be able to perform my duties, functions and responsibilities as director,” Aguilus said.
He added that he will meet with the management team from time to time to discuss vital concerns.
Mayor Tomas Osmeña previously asked the LTO authorities to immediately transfer one former member of the regional office’s operations division outside Cebu City, because of complaints from the public.
Aguilus said that the person concerned will be assigned to Tagbilaran City.
Although he confirmed that he received Osmeña’s letter-request, Aguilus also said that the concerned employee’s expertise can also be useful in Bohol.
Also affected by the revamp are the registrars of the LTO in Toledo City, finance division and the administrative division. (EOB)
