Sunday, January 13, 2008 Omana fights Malco on Jan. 20
WHILE his stablemate gears up for a major fight, ALA boy Joseph Omana will gear up for one of his biggest fight as he headlines the Sinulog Boxing at the Gaisano Country Mall on Jan. 20.
Omana (10-0, 6 KOs), will face the veteran Pedro Malco of Butuan City for 10 rounds in the 122-pound division.
At 17, Omana is relatively inexperienced compared to the 29-year-old Malco but the former Central Visayas Athletic Association gold medalist packs a power punch having won three bouts in the first round.
Undercard
Meanwhile in the undercards Rolito Nengascas of Barili will slug it out with Yu Stable boxer Ranie Pamatian in a six-round bout in the 116 pound division, while Pedro Alondro of San Remigio will slug it out for four rounds with Chersmar Caballes of the Yu stable in the 127-pound division.
Agusan del Sur’s Mark Jesson Taroja will also face Leo Torres of Eastern Samar in the 106-pound division for four rounds, while Joel “Yao Ming” Zaspa of Bantayan Island will be against Fidel Macarayan of Bohol for four rounds in the 135-pound division. (EKA with PR)
